If you had told me a few years ago that one of the best things I could do for my mental health and work-life balance was to get a German Shepherd, I probably would’ve laughed. The idea of adding more responsibility to my life didn’t exactly sound like stress relief.
But I was wrong.
Bringing a dog into my life—specifically, my energetic and loyal German Shepherd—was one of the most impactful decisions I’ve ever made. Sure, it’s more work. Yes, it takes time. But the return? It’s been life-changing.
